Àngel Alonso nace un 22 de Agosto de 1985 en la localidad tarraconense de Vila-seca. A los nueve años empieza su formación musical como violinista en el Conservatorio Professional de Musica de Vila-seca. A los 18 años decide dar un gran salto en su carrera musical y se marcha a los Estados Unidos para estudiar bateria y percusión. Àngel es, llicienciado Summa Cum Laude por la prestigiosa Universidad Americana Berklee College of Music de Boston, USA (2006) en la especialidad de ¨drum set performance¨ donde ha recibido clases de Terri Lyne Carrington, Dave DiCenso, Jon Hazilla, Kenwood Dennard, John Ramsay, Ralph Peterson, Mike Mangini, Dave Fiuczynski y Ed Tomassi entre otros. Ha tocado con el ensemble de Tower of Power, su banda Noapto, Carlos Creator, Robert Rodrigo (Airless) y la cantante norteamericana Shemekia Copeland entre muchos otros. En la actualidad combina las giras de Noapto con actuaciones y pequeñas giras como baterista independiente con formaciones de jazz, funk y rock entre las cuales destacan Dann..s Space Octopus y The Lord of the Swing & the funk community. Su trayectoria musical hasta la fecha le ha llevado a realizar conciertos en España, USA, Francia y Cuba. Actualmente y desde Abril de 2008, Àngel está cursando estudios en el prestigioso Musicians Institute de hollywood (California), escuela de la cual ha recibido una beca de estudios para el programa PIT (Percussion Institute of Technology). ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------- Àngel Alonso was born in Augoust 22nd of 1985 in Vila-seca (Tarragona). His musical studies started at age nine as violin player attending his town's Conservatory. At age eighteen he decides to take his passion one step further by moving to the United States of America to study drumset and percussion at world renown Berklee College of Music of Boston (Massachusetts). Àngel has a bachellors degree in Drum set Performance that he obtained with the higher honors possible (Summa cum Laude). He has studied with Terri Lyne Carrington, Dave DiCenso, Jon Hazilla, Kenwood Dennard, John Ramsay, Ralph Peterson, Mike Mangini, Dave fuczynski and Ed Tomassi among others. He has played with the Berklee Tower of Power Ensemble, Berklee Salsa Ensemble, his band NOAPTO (www.noapto.com), Shemekia Copeland and many others. In the present time, he combines tours as a member of NOAPTO with other projects such as The Lord of the Swing and the Funk Comunity and Dann..s Space Octopus among others. During his musical career Àngel has perfromed in countries such as Spain, USA, France and Cuba. Currently and since April of 2008, Àngel is enrolled at Musicians Institute located in hollywood (California), school from which he has received a schoolarship to attend the PIT program (Percussion Institute of Technology).
