MARCO DA SILVA - A SHORT BIOMarco Da Silva grew up in Rome and has been a crazy rock 'n' roll fan since the early age of 10. Naturally Elvis was his first connection fifties music, but Marco also literally wore out several records by Ricky Nelson, Johnny Burnette, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Charlie Rich, Jerry Lee Lewis.In 1978 Marco started playing in some incredible high-school bands: The Pist, Marco & The Mobutus, Rebelfire, Gli Irrequieti. He played bass and guitar practicing with rock and roll, rhythm & blues, new wave.In that period he also started to sing and it was rockabilly. A cover of Blue Suede Shoes, recorded in a real recording studio, sounded real frenetic and "almost punk" psychobilly.Today "Marco Da Silva and The Midnighters" are a killer and die-hard Rockabilly band from Rome,Italy,active on stage since 1995. Today's line-up is formed by Marco Da Silva , a long time Rockabilly soldier, and by three fine musicians ; they all love the wild spirit of Rockabilly as well as their front-man does.The music of the band is a very exciting mixture of authentic Rockabilly, straight Rock and Roll,Country music and 50's Instrumental.For more about Marco Da Silva please visit his Elvis' tribute myspace page by clicking the banner below : |

Not note by note covers but different enough to keep me/you interested. Marco Da Silva has a terrific voice and that makes this CD really stand out from other releases that feature a lot of vintage hits. Blue Suede News - USA ... Trying to compete with Charlie Gracie's graceful voice is close to impossible, and it takes a lot of guts to even try re-doing "Fabulous". Is it any good? Well, I actually had shivers going up and down my spine when I heard it the first time, so you can rest assured it's good!.My respect for Marco's voice is growing with every song.........difficult, try taking on Sanford Clark! In my book, only Robert Gordon (the greatest voice in revival rockabilly) got away with that, but I can add Marco and his Midnighters to list now ! Marijn Raaijmakers - BLACKCAT ROCKABILLY EUROPE - Holland ...This CD is also well produced , but it has a little bit more. It has Latin Flair, imaginative interpretations and an endearing charm befitting an Italian singing Rock and Roll in english with great spirit....It has an excellent variety ; The Fool is a superb stroller , while Fabulous and Rockabilly Boogie are great Jivers. Top Marks, Marco.. Terry Cowlishaw - Maggie's Blue Suede News - issue71 may2003 - England ...This is a likeable album without a weak track.I've encountered many inferior singers than Marco, who has been well produced and delivers all 15 tracks with confidence.... ..the strongest rocker is Rockabilly Boogie, my pick of the collection. The four slow songs are well performed too. Marco and the boys have made a promising start to their recording career.
