"Many times it seems as if Johnny is standing on stage behind me. I have been known to weep like a baby in the middle of 'Hurt.' I get goose bumps when the crowd sings 'I fell in to a burning Ring of Fire' LOUDER than the PA system! Or burst out laughing while repeating Johnny's cheeky humour 'They're probably smoking coffee and drinking big cigars!" "Every day I find another personal connection between Johnny's life and mine. My early career was plagued with drugs, late night antics in small towns while on the read, and the occasional attention from a police officer! My father built the radios that Johnny used on the military base in Germany! There is a praying, God-fearing lady in my life. My early songs that I recorded, I later realised, had tons of 'borrowed' musical ideas from The Man in Black! I believe all of these things add strength and credence to the show. I don't just sing a song just to be singing a Johnny Cash song. I have actually lived many of these songs and their stories one way or another."
