Steve Menzies Born in Manchester U.K. A singer/songwriter who developed a passion for music from a very early age in life, remembering the days of trying to emulate the tones and techniques of Stevie Wonder and the heartfelt spirit of Marvin Gaye in his efforts to aspire as a singer in his own right... Embracing all the great music he was privileged with, Steve began to manifest his own individuality and contemporary style to which his listeners have become accustomed to. Over time Steve's attributes expanded when he began to write his own songs and co written and featured as lead vocalist on albums from Paul Hardcastle, The Jazzmasters, including songs ‘Can’t stop now, ‘Livin in the shadows’ and the ever requested ‘You may be gone’….…Steve has also been involved in written works for U.K. artists Sad Café, Yazz and Cleopatra....Throughout the years, his live performances have been associated with Peter White, Steve Cole, Jarred and more recently, the credible grammy nominee, ‘Jason Miles’ at the 1st Jazz Festival in Casablanca…..Steve is now currently focusing his attention on what will be his first long awaited solo project, with his unique and distinctive tones and a passion for writing haunting melodies and poignant lyrics, this will be something to look forward to…..we’ll keep you posted!! Music:Member Since: 3/12/2007Influences: 'Whats Going On', Probably the biggest musical influence from any album I have ever come across, An album that has drifted in and out of my life since I was a little young blood, and continues to inspire me as much now as it did at the time of its creation!! I was blessed recently with the privelage of working alongside Grammy nominee 'Jason Miles' at the first Casablanca Jazz festival when he asked me to perform my vocals on a rework of the 'Whats going on Album. The show concluded with an unrehearsed encore of 'Mercy Mercy Me'.. Man!!.. what a feeling that was.. Included in the line up was Maysa, Guida De Palma, Sherrod Barnes, DJ Logic and Christian Scott.............. I have to mention Stevie too!, yes, 'Inner visions', the work of a genius, songs that are forever. Other influences include, Take Six, Brian Mcknight, Donny Hathaway, Isley Brothers, The late Luther Van Dross, BeBe Winan and my very own protigee, Mark Menzies, my son, blessed with so much talent and good nature, I love you...
