About Me |
|
Natural High is singer songwriter Mark Black’s new album and is the culmination of life experience and adventure. The title track Natural High has a bright, summery vibe with light jazz and funky overtones. This is one song you’ll want to play over and again. It expresses Mark’s love of beach culture. In fact mark lived in Sydney, Australia for two years touring and performing. A lot of songs on the album were written there. Take the Plane is a heart felt song about his time there and shows Mark’s interest and passion for world percussion. Then, songs such as Sanctuary and the haunting yet tranquil Wars Could End show a philosophical and humanitarian side to his character. Looking In On Me is an interesting song that almost croons along with a distinctive jazz shade to the chords and melody. Mark is a multi instrumentalist; playing acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards , drums and percussion. The album also features guest musicians such as world renowned jazz saxophonist Tony Kofi, bass player Simon Paterson, Jazz guitarist Steve Pinnock , Phil McCauley on lead guitar and Chris Bucknall on additional keys. Natural High was produced by Mark Black and Chris Bucknall. All words, music and arrangements by Mark Black. There are 11 songs on this refreshing and unique album due for release summer 2008.
