Dolores "DeeJazz" Jackson was born and raised in Detroit Michigan during the glorious Motown era. She began writing music as a teenager and honed her writing skills over the next 3 decades, ultimately creating her internationally acclaimed CD "A Musical Messenger" in 2003.
In the same year her sister Hattie Mae Pembrook released the companion text "Messages to Awaken yourSelf" which elaborates on the inspirational messages of the 14-song CD. This awespiring book is filled with true stories and photographs of DeeJazz, Hattie Mae and their family. Hattie Mae has been endorsed by Les Brown and Carolyn Myss to name a few.
Since the CD release DeeJazz has received an endorsement from the esteemed Dr. Maya Angelou. After Dr. Angelou heard the CD, she invited DeeJazz to sing live at Ashford & Simpson’s Sugar Bar in New York City where Dr. Angelou gave praise stating "DeeJazz is Unique and Impressive."
In 2006 Hattie Mae wrote a story about their mother entitled "Shades of Black & White". This story was featured in "Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul" and DeeJazz was invited to sing at the book release party in L.A. where they met the wonderful Lisa Nichols of "The Secret".
Thus far, 2006 has been the biggest year for DeeJazz & her sister Hattie Mae. They traveled to 6 cities; New York, Maryland, Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas & L.A. spreading their message of love and inspiration.
DeeJazz intends to continue sharing her spiritual and inspirational message as she is working on her sophomore CD "Music of Life", expected out in July of 2008.
Her future goals include writing for other artists. She writes all genres of music and has R&B tunes she would love to market to established artists.
She also intends to help others who suffer with Social Anxiety. She overcame 30 years of social anxiety and now performs live for audiences across the country.
DeeJazz seeks to be "A Living Example" as her song states. She intends to walk the talk and live the best life according to the example set forth by Christ.
DeeJazz is also a professional editor with the following credentials:
* 1995 - B.A. in Advertising/Public Relations (magna cum laude).
* 2000 - Editor-In-Chief of a national newspaper, overseeing and editing all articles.
* 2001 - Promoted to V.P. of the newspaper.
* 2002-Current - Professional Free Lance Editor
