| Growing up outside of NYC in the early 80’s, I had the opportunity to start playing in clubs and coffehouses right out of the gates. Deciding to give up the city life for some “farm living”, I moved to Vermont in 1985 where I played in an early “jamband” called Mental Floss which occasionally shared the bill with Phish - playing around the University of Vermont dorms and Burlington bar scene. Following the “west coast of the east coast” gigs, I moved to Colorado to continue schooling and jamming along the Front Range of the Rockies. About 10 years ago, I settled in Northern VA and have been in several bands, including the Dirt Farmers, Circle of Thirds, Catfish Honeymoon, and am currently holding down the bottom for the Black Cat Blues Band and play throughout the Washington DC/NOVA/MD metro area.The beautiful paintings of flowers are by my talented wife! | |

Music:Member Since: 3/17/2007Band Website: myspace.com/theblackcatbluesband Band Members: Influences: BIG BOTTOM influences range from Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead) to Allen Woody (Gov’t Mule and Allman Brothers) to John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) to Tommy Shannon (Stevie Ray Vaughn, Storyville) to Jack Bruce (Cream), Jack Casady (Hot Tuna) and Tony Levin (King Crimson). Sounds Like: I like to play everything from Roots Rock & Americana/Alt-Country to Jamband & Birkenstock rock to Chicago/Texas/Delta Blues. I am available to sub on a gig in the event you like what you hear. The streaming songs are my originals and I tried to pick a few with a range of styles. Vocals on most tunes are Jenn Stofferahn also in Black Cat Blues Band. I wing the vocals on Out the Door.....I also play a bit of mandolin, but so do my favorite bass players!!
