My name is Carol and creativity has been important to me all my life. I grew up with creative parents, in particular my father who was an artist. He worked for the first British animation company in the 1940's called 'GB Animations'. It was run by David Hand, who worked on many of the early Disney films: such as 'Bambi' and 'Snow White'. In later life my father was famous for his amazingly imaginative watercolours. My early creative expression was in the form of various crafts: such as patchwork, embroidery, cross stich and applique etc.. For the past ten years I have been passionate about cardmaking. I make cards using a technique called Stencil Embossing. This is making a raised image on card using metal and brass stencils with the aid of a lightbox. I make pastel, feminine cards for all occasions using many different ideas and techniques such as bleached cards, floral 3D cards, using poetry and sayings, beautiful white-on-white cards with a hint of glitter, velumn cards, decoupage, textured embossing, rubber stamping and my favourite theme: Victorian cards. I have taught card making classes for local craft groups and a few years ago I had a card published in the magazine, Crafts Beautiful. Oh yes!! My other passions in life are my husband, my two nearly grown up and equally creative daughters and Charlie our clever Jack Russell who does numerous tricks and always wears that cute "it wasn't me" expression. The music playing was written by my husband as a Birthday gift....its beautiful!! This is a selection of my Wedding stationary.All card designs are copyrighted. More Wedding stationary Victorian cards with embossed borders. An assortment of beautiful vellum cards. Punched flowers embossed on vellum Handmade boxes with embossed designs I made this card using bleached paper backgrounds. I printed this card, painted it in pearlized paint then embossed the detail. This card is made using a versatile and easy to use digital cutting system called 'Silhouette'. For me its best feature is that you can use any true-type font from your computer from 1/4 inch to 8 inches. Ideal for both card making and Scrapbooking. For this card I embossed the border on vellum and then used the Silhoutte to cut text and flowers. It's a whole new world of crafting...recommend it! Texturized embossing on pearlized paint. |
