William Thurston Prince aka Billy born to Isaac Prince and Mary Belle in Detroit, Michigan on January 11. Growing up Billy watched his father, Isaac Prince play the piano/organ every Sunday in church which inspired him to sing in the Choir at Faith Temple. Issac Prince owned "Prince and Adams Record Mart" on 12th Street in Detroit. Billy would go to the record shop and listen to all the great singers of that era. Billy attended Chadsey High School on the west side. At Chadsey High, Billy met Dennis Gilmore and Spyder Turner who at the time were singing in a group called "The Nonchalants". Dennis Gilmore introduced Billy to Arthur Ashford, Michael Morgan, Ronnie Davis of THE PRECISIONS. The Precisions had already recorded the song "Your Sweet" and were looking for a new vocalist. When Billy joined The Precisions he was attending College at Port Huron, Michigan. At that time he recorded his first single Such Misery. This was the turning point of his career as a singer. The next big single "Why Girl" hit the top 10 in the R & B charts. He would go on to record If This is Love, which hit the National Billboard charts. This past year I performed a show in England. It was a hit (see videos on page). I met great people and kindled a new flame in my voice. To add to this bio, I been bless to join a establish band in San Diego know as Soul Diego.
