With everything that is going on in this world,
/Can someone please tell me why we are so superficial,
/Look up the term, define it's true meaning,
/I challenge anyone to give me a significant reason,
/Superficial, so shallow, this is the reason why my heart is still bleeding,
/So untrue, your words, when you speak, are like knives sinking into my skin,
/It pains me to hear you speak, the words that stumble out of your mouth,
/Because we both know the truth, you are only above and nothing beneath,
/Only above, nothing in between, the only depth you will know is only when you will sink,
/Tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, but I knew, my guard, couldn't let it down,
/Tests and tries, maybe I tricked you to see what you would say, to see if you would still stay,
/Which led to the moment, your true colors,
/Finally, now I can see, exactly how you would end up looking at me,
/This moment I've felt, so ashamed, to fall yet again, at the mercy of a distant face,
/So distant, but yet so close, to indulge the inner beings of my soul,
/Only to leave another empty hole,
/Why shall I cry and try to find a way to feel a different kind of pain,
/A quick fix for the moment, a temporary numbness, eventually, I will start to feel the pain again,
/I don't want to go back down that road,
/Self Destruct, Loneliness, Insecurities,
/Feelings of feeling like I'm not good enough,

/Which you will find me lying on that floor,
/Whether or not you can stop the bleeding I do not know,

/The short memories that we recently experienced, the memories that actually brought a smile to my face,
/Are to fade and be erased,
/The tears that are now streaming down my face,
/Painfully wishing this were not true, of you, I thought you were true, kind, you blew my mind,
/I should have known, you would disappoint, in the end,
/You are one OF a million, not ONE in a million,
/You are superficial, with no true meaning,
/No depth, No character,
/You are the reason why you, in the future, will be fading away in the mirror,
