| INTERNATIONAL NOMINATION ANNOUNCEMENT
"Mark Raphael, Toronto Magazine Music Award 2008 Nominee"
At the age of 16, Mark Raphael discovered the exciting art of playing guitar. After playing in several rockbands he got bored with it. In 1996 Mark went to L.A. to study at the "Musicians Institute Hollywood" where he improved from amazing guitarplayers like Scott Henderson, Brett Garsed and Dan Gilbert. He always was inspired by some hidden guitarheroes like Andy Timmons, Blues Saraceno, and Dave Uhrich.... Yngwie Malmsteen was always an inspiration for him, but he never really tried or even wanted to try *smile* to copy him. Mark plays from the heart and doesn..t care if someone likes his music or not. But he..s always happy if someone does :o) All you can hear was composed and recorded in his own homestudio. For many years he is working on his second solo record. Never satisfied and always trying to find his perfect guitar sound. But its a never ending story....... maybe someday..... He works together with friends all through the internet to record the tunes. Mark is still looking for good musicians (bassplayer, sound-engineer) who like to be a part of the new project. Many tunes are already composed but not finished. But you need to work with emagic logic & mac. December 2004, the "mark 7" guitar was born from Blade Guitars. It took Mark over one year to design & realize this great instrument together with Blade guitars ..cause he didn..t accept any compromise. Its a modification of the Blade RH-4 but its real different !!! believe me. It looks like a Rolls Royce to the original.
