| .. ESPAÑOL: SAGROS IDEOLOGIA:SAGROS deriva del Antiguo Griego “ZAGREUS” que traduce “TORMENTOSO”.La ideología de la banda es humanista, nos centramos en una base única que es el ser humano. Las letras hablan sobre nuestro punto de vista acerca del hombre como creador y destructor de todo lo que existe, su percepción de la vida y la muerte, sus logros y falencias, el bien y el mal, sus miedos mas profundos y todo el caos, desolación y confusión que el mismo puede llegar a causar.Basándonos en experiencias propias o ajenas, construimos una autocrítica o reflexión acerca de nuestra misma existencia que puede llegar a ser, dependiendo del camino escogido, gratamente provechosa o por el contrario trágicamente tormentosa. SAGROS nació a mediados del año 1997 con la intención de formar una banda de Thrash Metal con raíz clásica, influenciados principalmente por bandas como KREATOR, SEPULTURA, SODOM entre otras, mezclando la rapidez y crudeza de los riffs de los 80..s pero con toques de lo que hacia en los 90..s. Con su primera formación, SERGIO GAVIRIA (guitarra y voz), JORGE CHAMORRO (guitarra), GERMAN FLOREZ (Bateria) y MAURICIO GUTIERREZ (Bajo) finales del año 1998 SAGROS entro al Studio para grabar su primera producción musical titulada “FUEGO ETERNO” la cual nunca salio al mercado por cuestiones de dinero, pero de la cual se conserva el master. posteriormente en el año 2000 entra a encargarse de la voces ALEJANDRO ECHEVERRY y JEAN CARLO ESCALANTE en el bajo con los cuales SAGROS graba su primera producción musical profesional que llevaría por titulo “SILENCIO”la cual salió bajo el sello HATE PRODUCTIONS en formato Cassette y que contó con 4 temas, con este trabajo la banda tubo la oportunidad de tocar en diferentes ciudades del país como PASTO, PALMIRA, TULUA, ARMENIA, PEREIRA, POPAYAN al lado de grandes bandas como MASACRE, NEUROSIS, TWILIGHT GLIMMER, MALEFICARUM, VOBISCUM, SOULEDGE, NAMELESS, HERPES, NIHIL OBSTAT, SHADOWS AND CHAOS, MELTHING FLESH, ACRATAS, THYONEUS, GORETRADE, CARNAL y otras mas. Desafortunadamente en el 2003 la banda entro en crisis debido a problemas internos, por los cuales baterista, abandona el grupo, para dedicarse de lleno a su proyecto , así que la banda decide no buscar un reemplazo y cesa actividades, tiempo en el cual SERGIO GAVIRIA entra a trabajar con las bandas THYONEUS y ACRATAS, como guitarrista y JORGE CHAMORRO se dedica a sus proyectos personales. “PATHS OF THE DEATH” fue el promo CD que se edito en el año 2004 gracias a la colaboración de un gran amigo JHON OSORIO (Bajista de E.D.C) el cual se encargo de la mezcla y masterizacion de los tres temas del promo del cual se sacaron una pocas copias que se distribuyeron mas que todo entre los amigos. este material fue grabado enteramente por SERGIO GAVIRIA. Después de mucho dialogar, SAGROS retorna en el 2007 a los escenarios con su formación actual, (SERGIO GAVIRIA - GUITARRA LIDER Y VOZ), (JORGE CHAMORRO - GUITARRA RITMICA), (FREDDY PRADO - BAJO) y (DANIEL CLAROS) - BATERIA), con la cual la banda se a fortalecido tanto musicalmente como personalmente. Con esta alineación se espera dar paso a lo que será su Tercera producción musical oficial que se titulada “FREEDOM LIES IN CHAINS” Promo Cd con 2 temas propios el cual fue muy bien aceptado por el publico en general. Para el primer trimestre del 2008, SAGROS prepara lo que sera el Cd debut de la banda y que llevara por titulo “ANGER BLIND THE MINDS”, el cual se encuentra en proceso de grabacion, esperamos una buena aceptación por parte del publico y de los medios, queremos agradecer a toda la gente que siempre estuvo con nosotros y nos apoyo en todo este tiempo, GRACIAS. ENGLISH: SAGROS is derived from the ancient Greek Word “ZAGREUS” which means “TORMENTOUS”. The band beliefs is entirely humanistic, we are focused on a unique base which is the human being. Our lyrics talk about our vision of the man as the creator and destructor of everything that exist, his perception of life and death, his achievements and flaws, his deepest fears, the good and evil and the chaos and desolation that he can cause. Based on our own experiences and others that we were told, we built a self critic reflection of our existence, depending of the way we choose sometimes it could be a really fulfilling one or a tragically tormented one. SAGROS was born during the year 1997, it was intended to be a classic KREATOR, SEPULTURA, SODOM ish Thrash Metal band, mixing the fastness and rawness of the 80..s riffs with something’s of the 90..s stuff, with its first line-up SERGIO GAVIRIA, (L. Guitar & Vocals), JORGE CHAMORRO (R. Guitar), GERMAN FLOREZ (Drums) y MAURICIO GUTIERREZ (bass) and during the year 1998 SAGROS enters the studio and records its first musical production entitled “FUEGO ETERNO” which never saw the light due to money issues, but we kept the master tape, later in 2000 SAGROS records its first professional musical released which will be entitled “SILENCIO” this was released on cassette and it has four tracks, produced by the HATE PRODUCTION metal label, with this cassette the group got the chance of touring through different cities in the country such as PASTO, PALMIRA, PEREIRA, TULUA, ARMENIA, POPAYAN alongside great bands like MASACRE, NEUROSIS, NAMELESS; TWILIGHT GLIMMER, SOULEDGE and others. Unfortunately in 2003 the band experienced some crisis due to inner problems which ended with the departure of the drummer, so he can work on his project, the band decides not to look for a replacement and finish everything, During this time SERGIO GAVIRIA plays with ACRATAS and THYONEUS and JORGE CHAMORRO dedicates to his personal projects. In 2004 a promo Cd called “PATHS OF THE DEATH” is edited whit the collaboration of a friend JHON OSORIO (Bassist of E.D.C) he was in charge of mixing and mastering of the three tracks. Of this Promo Cd a few copies were distributed among friends mainly, this material was recorded entire by SERGIO GAVIRIA. After a lot of talking, SAGROS returns to the stages with its current line-up SERGIO GAVIRIA, (Lead Guitar & Vocals), JORGE CHAMORRO (Rhythmic Guitar), FREDDY PRADO (bass & Chorus) and DANIEL CLAROS (Drums), with this people the band strengthened musically and also personally. We expect to released our second production titled “FREEDOM LIES IN CHAINS” Promo Cd with 2 own traces, which was very well accepted for the people. For the first trimester of 2008, SAGROS prepares what will be the Cd premiere of the band and that it took for title “ANGER BLIND THE MINDS”,that is in recording process, with this Cd we hope a great acceptance from the public and media, Finally we want to say thanks to all the people who have been with us and gave us support through the years thank you.
