I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 ! My name is Juan Monarez and this is my artwork. I have a lot of portrait work and expressionistic abstracts with bizare sybolism. My influences range from Van Eyck, John Henri Fuseli, Max Earnst, Salvador Dali, H.R. Giger, Sharon Ellis, Ross Blechner, and Michael Hussar. My work deals with biology, anatomy, surrealism, language, culture, and technical painting. I'm the singer for three different industrial and goth bands including: Bajskorv, Impulse Control, and Dada for Nada. I am always writing poetry and painting. I also enjoy teaching art and working with the Greater Reston Arts Center. Currently I'm preparing for a new body of work in order to apply for upcoming shows. I work primarily with Oil Paint but love water colors just as much and have been working with guache lately. Besides my painting abilities I also know how to stone Carve and wield metal. I have prints available of vertualy everything in my picture section. Take a look and give me your worst critique. Come on, nail me with something awful. I can take it. I got to grow somehow.
