| OK, It feels like I fell in a hole... I started something I can't stop and there's no way out. This all started more than 20 years ago when my mother was hanging a mirror on the wall and scraped the back with the nail. The mirror was garbage to her, but I noticed the line was something more than a scratch that removed the reflective coating... Now I know this sounds CORNY so, prepare your self... It was a story... But, only the first line... It was then given to me... OK, OK... I took it out of the trash! I scratched and scraped and picked at it, learning something new after every line... Then I destroyed it. I didn't like the way it turned out so, it went back to the trash. I don't have much of anything left, from the things I created when I was a kid... Wasn't happy with it... Didn't want anyone to see it... 25 years later or so... I began sandblasting glass. A few have broken... It's bound to happen... It's like throwing rocks at high speed chipping away at the glasses surface... The deeper the chip, the brighter the "Dot" Remedy??? Thicker glass... Everything is 1/4 inch thick... Works fine! The frames are basically a shallow shadow-box. This allows light to cast shadows inside the frame... Making a deeper, living affect. No kidding, they are turning into a 3D type affect... Something like, the eyes follow you as you pass... The bike seat, the bike looks like you can walk over and sit on it. Looking at them up close, it really doesn't look like the glass is chipped away as it is, it looks like snow flakes, like no two chips are the same... OR like breathing on chilled glass... I, you, and we all, have seen sandblasted glass at one time or another... So I know this is nothing new... BUT I'm told by the Art community that this technique is something new. I have tried to show them locally... And unless I'm standing next to them to explain what it is, people tend to only glance at them in passing, thinking they are Charcoal Drawings... Or a Black and White Print... Don't get me wrong, that's still a compliment to me! But once the word gets out that its only the chipping that has created the image... No Ink, Paints, No Nothing... It's nothing more than a "Ding" in your cars windshield... Then the interest is peaked. As I hope yours is to. Please take a moment to view my pictures...
