| I'm married to my loving wife, Mary, and have 6 children: Robert III, Kathleen, Conor, Kyra, William, and Aidan. I serve as Senior Attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council, Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the Hudson Riverkeeper and President of the Waterkeeper Alliance. I'm also a Clinical Professor and Supervising Attorney at the Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic at Pace University School of Law in New York. Earlier in my career I served as Assistant District Attorney in New York City. I've worked on several political campaigns and was state coordinator for my uncle Ted's 1980 Presidential Campaign. I have worked on environmental issues across the Americas and assisted several indigenous tribes in Latin America and Canada in successfully negotiating treaties protecting traditional homelands. I lead the fight to protect New York City's water supply. The New York City watershed agreement, which I negotiated on behalf of environmentalists and New York City watershed consumers, is regarded as an international model in stakeholder consensus negotiations and sustainable development. A lot of people have expressed to me a hope and desire that I run for political office; either to rekindle my family legacy or to protect and preserve our environment. I am flattered and humbled. Someday I may run for national office, but for now I'm content being around my wife and children, fighting to make the air we all breathe more safe.
