Melissa began dancing at the extremely young age of three, beginning with formal training as soon as she was able to walk. Her obvious love for this artistic expression drove her to intensively study, directly leading her to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University at Buffalo. Melissa’s exposure to electronic music and the underground dance scene helped her to discover an intense connection with improvisation. Utilizing her own technique she has developed over these many years, Melissa brings the music to a higher level and makes it be felt physically and spiritually. Often, she can be seen demonstrating her favorite style of dance, fire-dancing, which entered into the equation recently with the incarnation of “Medusa Fire” (Melissa’s stage name). Sharing energy with the people that appreciate the power of music has brought a new meaning to the phrase "let the music move you". |
