As the main firepower behind Vanity X - He was nominated in 2006 at the L.A Music Awards for Song of the Year in the World Music Category for a track from the Euro/Rock Hybrid side project - 'Dawn of Night', Jon also received an honorable mention in the Rock Category for the Vanity X standout track - 'As Fast As I Can'. He was named guitarist of the week at garageband.com and came in at 3rd place in May 2007's song of the year contest with the metal masterpiece 'Crown of Thorns'. The Vanity X track 'Release Me' has also been featured on the soundtrack to local documentary 'Sins of the City'. Influenced by musicians such as Richie Sambora, Ace Frehley, Zakk Wylde, Jimmy Page, Christos Dantis, Paul Stanley, Sully Erna, Anders Friden, Bjorn Gelotte, Tobias Sammet and Nikki Sixx- Jon uses Gibson Les Pauls with EMG pickups exclusively, along with the following - Peavey 5150 mkII's, TC Electronics G Major, BBE Sonic Maximizer, Digital Music Corporation/Voodoo Labs Ground Control Pro, Furman Power Conditioner, Jim Dunlop 535Q wah's, various Line 6 and BOSS products and the Rocktron Banshee.
