| I Winged nascono nel 1991 a Catania , la prima formazione vede Fabio War L.(chitarra) , Alex Storm (basso) Danilo R. (voce) e Alexander G. (batteria), lo stile della band e’ prettamente “old black metal” . Nel 1992 i Winged registrano “demo 92” , subito dopo Danilo R. e Alexander G. lasciano la band , sostituiti poco dopo da Devastator (batteria) e dallo stesso Fabio War L. (chitarra/voce) . Nel 1993 vede la luce “Oath of Blood”(black/death metal) , il demo riscuote molti consensi nella scena underground . Nei primi mesi del 1994 , registrano il terzo demo “When the Evil Emerges”, subito dopo la band si divide . I Winged rinascono nel Novembre del 1995 fondati da Lord Axl Mato (voce), Fabio War L. (chitarra) , Fullmoon dei Circumventor (basso) e Alf Thunder (batteria) e registrano nell’Ottobre del 1996 “A Voice Beyond the Grave”(old black metal) . Alcuni mesi dopo Fullmoon e Alf Thunder lasciano la band sostituiti da David Dagon (batteria) e J. V. Nebiros (basso) chitarrista degli Spoilshroud . La band nel 1998 auto produce il primo cd “From the Arcane Burning Legions” dieci brani di black metal con influenze epic , registrato ai Cosmography Studios (Catania) . Dopo le registrazioni dell’album la band si divide ancora, ed inizia un lungo silenzio....
Nel 2005 Lord Axl Mato ( voce/chitarra/basso) decide di rifondare i Winged a Bologna con BelVlad (batteria) .
Nel Gennaio del 2007 Andred (cantante degli Angel of Anger) entra nella band completando cosi la line-up con l' ausilio della tastiera . La band lavora su nuovi brani proponendo un black metal con influenze brutal , le sperimentazioni compositive non si limitano a miscelare i diversi generi , ma mirano ad una nuova concezione del genere . Le tematiche affrontate nelle liriche descrivono visioni ermetiche che spaziano in ambito filosofico , spirituale e magico .
Nel Giugno del 2007 BelVlad lascia la band , per motivi personali , intanto
Lord Axl Mato e Andred decidono di ricontattare Fullmoon e Alf Thunder .
Ritorna cosi la formazione dei Winged del 1996, che diede vita al demo "A VOICE BEYOND THE GRAVE" : Lord Axl Mato (chitarra/voce) , Fullmoon (basso) , Alf Thunder (batteria) e la new entry Andred (tastiera).
La band sta attualmente lavorando al promo " ARS DAEMONIUM".
