| "Sapa Inca" is the term used by the Quechua speaking people of Peru and the Andes for their 'King', "the Supreme Ruler." A ruler over one's self and one's destiny.Sha-King has been seen and heard around the local underground hip-hop scene in Pittsburgh since 1996. A lyrical kaleidascope, Sha-King paints pictures the world won't stare at. His sharp delivery and genuine assertiveness demand the listeners ears, even those he may not usually flirt with his hardcore genre of hip-hop. At 14 he earned a mean reputation as a battle emcee. In 1998, the year after he got the knowledge of himself and joined the Nation of Gods and Earth-commonly referred to as the "Five Percenters", he became part of a local crew of emcee's called RXC (Reality Unknown Complex) and that spring released his solo project "Semantics", as well as was featured on the Classic 1824 release "Meso Matrix." In 2000, along with fellow RXC group member Nabri Savior, he co-starred on the live wire disc entitled "Do the 1." He received a brief buzz for his smash single "Kahlua" from off the "Do the 1" album. The collective, RXC family couldn't help but be seen opening for industry artists like the Roots, Eminem, and more recently Ghostface and M-1, to local venues and hole in the wall spots, keeping the hip-hop fiends with fresh product. Sha-King took a hiatus from the hip-hip scene to focus more energy on the spread of the Five Percent's teachings and message in his community and abroad. After considerable frustration and dissappointment with the music industry, Sha-King concluded that the only way he would hear music he liked would be to create it again. He later returned joined with producer Gneticz (Tea House Environment) which brought forth his much anticipated second solo album entitled "The Rebirth." Musically, the combination of the two became more volatile than mixing Bacardi 151 and Henny. With Sha-King chanting his interesting blend of Neo-revolutionary jargon over Gneticz' raw, grimy, loop laced tracks, the originality in hip-hop would once again emerge. The Drop Squad was born. The group's name was inspired by an early Spike Lee movie about a mysterious, underground organization who snatched/kidnapped black people and reprogrammed their psychology as a means to combat the post-slavery syndrome that plagues Black and Latin communities. The duo's music have been available on Rebel Music vol 1 and Rebel Music vol 2 put out through Classic 1824 music.Due to producer Gneticz becoming MIA (missing in action), Sha-King has vowed to keep 'la revoluccion de musica inteligente' going strong with the release of his new solo project- "Peace Pipes and Pistols Vol. 1", available now! Also the Living Proofe and Sha-King project- "Conversations with God".....
