| King’s Fool has been created in Bordeaux (France) in February 2007 by Jean-Sébastien Viot and Munky Dinamik Blast.
For now, all the songs are written and composed by both of them whose influences come from British bands (Radiohead, Blur, The Beatles…), Shoegaze (My Bloody Valentine, Amusement Parks On Fire...) and Post-Rock music (Sigur Ros, Mogwai…) for example.
The two founder members are King’s Fool guitarists and singers and the band also includes Guy-Jean Miard (from Black Liquid Death) and Franck as bass- guitar player and drummer. Occasionnally the band use some keyboards too.
In July 2008, K’s F finished its first E.P (10 songs) called « Surrounded by Fools ». The album has been entirely recorded at Jean-Sébastien’s flat on his laptop. The songs feature ethereal and noisy guitars, guitar bass, drums and voices. Regarding the lyrics, they’re mainly based on a abstract depiction of self-experienced stories or feelings. This mix of influences, sounds and lyrics are called by somes as « Atmospheric Pop » or « Rough Romanticism ». King’s Fool a été créé à Bordeaux (France) en Février 2007 par Jean-Sébastien Viot et Munky Dinamik Blast. Jusqu’à présent, les chansons sont écrites et composées par ces derniers dont les influences viennent de groupes britaniques (Radiohead, Blur , The Beatles), du Shoegaze (My Bloody Valentine, Amusement Parks On Fire...) et du Post-Rock (Mogwai, Sigur Ros...) par exemple. Les deux membres fondateurs sont les guitaristes et chanteurs du groupe qui comprend aussi Guy-Jean Miard (de Black Liquid Death) à la basse et Franck à la batterie. On retrouve occasionnellement des parties de claviers sur certaines pistes. En juillet 2008, K’sF a sorti son premier E.P intitulé « Surrounded By Fools » et incluant 10 titres. L’album a été totalement enregistré à l’appartement de Jean-Sébastien sur son ordinateur portable. Les chansons se caractérisent par une utilisation prononcée d’instruments et de chants éthérés et saturés. Les textes, quant à eux, consistent en une représentation abstraite de sentiments et d’expériences vécus. Ce mélange d’influences, de sons et de textes est nommé par certains comme de la « Pop Atmosphérique » ou du « Romantisme Brutal ». |
