| NORSK JAZZFORLAG At last - a Norwegian jazz publishing company Music books and text books a.o. Norsk Jazzforlag became reality after an idea from Hilde Hefte. When doing some research, looking for already published Norwegian jazz, she discovered that our jazz heritage was sadly neglected. Once she had the idea, the project became a reality very quickly. We are publishing music books containing original compositions by the great jazz musicians and composers in Norway. Music like this should not be forgotten - everybody should have the opportunity to get to know this superb music. It is our wish and great privilege to give Norwegian jazz musicians and composers the tribute they deserve and to share our rich jazz heritage with all! We are also publishing text-books written by our Norwegian jazz-musicians.Hilde Hefte Norsk Jazzforlag ------------------------- NORTHERN LINES 1 - TWENTY NORWEGIAN JAZZ COMPOSITIONS: The newspaper Dagbladet wrote: A fantastic initiative for Norwegian jazz. The entusiast Hilde Hefte established Norsk Jazzforlag to care for and promoted Norwegian jazz sheet music. Fredrik Wandrup The newspaper Dag og Tid wrote:At last; a Norwegian jazz publishing company. Hilde Hefte wrote history when she introduced Norsk Jazzforlag this week.For a long time, Norwegian jazz has been internationally recognized for its unique qualities. For the first time, musicians can get their compositions published. This historic event took place on May 12th, 2004 when the jazz musician, singer and idealist Hilde Hefte released Norsk Jazzforlags first music book.A unique treasure of music stored in drawers will at last be published and shared with everybody. The design and printing is done by professionals; and they are of course not doing this for free. BUT because of how we work we're able to publish some great music which wouldn't have been published unless we didn't do it this way.
