Melbourne’s La Femme were a fascinating meld of late Seventies influences: punk/new wave/glam & hard rock. Their 1979 debut single Chelsea Kids is one of the all-time classic Australian singles and their only LP 'La Femme', is arguably one of the best to come out of Melbourne’s late 1970’s punk/new wave scene. It contains many fine examples of the band’s confident, swaggering glam-infused punk-metal sound. They had a short-lived career, but played constantly, supporting the likes of The Ramones, Iggy Pop, The Vapors, being supported by INXS The Boys Next Door, Models just to name a few. Aztec Music’s deluxe reissue has been digitally remastered from the original tapes, bonus tracks, rare demo's PLUS their rare film clip of Chelsea Kids. La Femme wil be relaunching at the Ding Dong Lounge on Saturday 15th September as part of 'HUSH HUSH' with LEGENDS OF MOTORSPORT, JARVIS, BLADESHY & THE HUSH HUSH BURLESQUE.An extrordinary night of talent, fun and the best excuse to party, party, party!!! |
