The HIGH-CHIEF Performer/Leader in this Band is, of course, always: SIR P.-Diddy Hewson,.... this NEVER changes. However - from time to time, and from Tour to Tour, the 'Back-up' Band itself, does often change, as does their Poxy Sound!! EVENING PRESS writes of the 'Paul Hewson Showband for Eejits': "Their Sound is Raw, as raw as the whip-marks on my flippin' back, which I received late last night from Punks at Stephen's Green (the little Bastards!!). The Lyrics from Chief-Bossman P.-Diddy Hewson surely have meaning,.... what that is, I'm not quite sure however. If you think Pee in a Bottle is 'ART', than this Band is a must-see & must-hear Irish Act!!!! We, at the Evening Press, give this Band - 2 Fingers-up!! ;-)" (Scroddy O'Connor-Evening Press). RTE Radio 2 says of the 'Paul Hewson Showband for Eejits': "Never heard of 'em,.... period,.... end-of-story!!" (Alan MacStinker: Loo Custodian & Part-time Late, Late Show Radio-Host @ RTE 2).
