| In the autumn of 2006 a modest gathering of friends, prepared a magic carpet ride with their eyes aimed at the full moon. Carefully they started rehearsing along the Maas river. It’s a twilight there, calm waves between a red sunset and a beautiful purple-lighted swan. These friends are known. They played together in Hyphen, a psychedelic postrock band from the nineties, experienced in strange carpet rides. Who are those beings behind the mirror? Mike Bindraban plays on red and dark blue keys, Nikos Paisopoulos plays his bass loosy goosy and Patrick Verdonk plays various guitars. Together the Mirror Conspiracy sound was born. Joined by Esther Vroegindeweij on violins, Ron Zogara on guitars and Martijn Groen on drums, TMC plays self-composed timeless arrangements. Jazzy triphop, jazzrock, nu-fusion and lounge-noir are some pieces of the musical puzzle this band plays. Is it a conspiracy? A black and white film perhaps? It's creating a sketch with music. No tight structures, but simplicity, and elastic fragility. Listening makes the fantasy discover subtle improvisation. The choice is yours. |
