| D-major Damian Coolin ‘aka’ D-major has been obsessed by musical sounds since birth. Influences such as Sam Cooke, Beres Hammond, Stevie Wonder and R-kelly have produced a passion that has driven him to pursue music as his lifestyle. His first endeavor in the field was a member of a quintet called Q-T whose life span took him from mid-high school to his early twenties. This was not nearly satisfying and again his thirst drove him to want more. To date his thirst has birthed songs such as ‘People make the world go round,’ ‘among the angels,’ ‘Sunshine,’ and ‘Won’t Separate.’ With a keen understanding of the power of music he makes a conscious effort to endorse positive energy. “I want people to feel good when they hear my music,” and as such he controls the content of his singing material by writing his own songs. His talent has blessed him with the opportunity to share the stage with international talents like James Ingram, Jeffery Osborne, Genuine, Busta Rhymes, Shaggy, Sean Paul to name a few. When his mind and time is not consumed by music he is involved with another love – Track and field. The discipline and beauty of the human body when trained fascinates his mind and explains his current physical form. ‘If you respect yourself and your body you will look after it and want it to perform to it maximum, this is why I train. Life is about balance and to be a good entertainer you must be able to deliver positive energy. This is only possible with a balanced lifestyle.” | |
