Sounds Like:

Oh! The Pretty Things @ NXNE 2007

The Black Bull never saw it coming.

The mayhem started with a barrage of gut-busting drum blasts over fuzzy feedback. A flurry of vein-popping punk spat through the speakers, sonic waves of bangs and booms rumbling the floor. The glass next to me nearly cracked from the cowbell.

"Holy Shit!" someone yelled.

I feared I wouldn't make it out of there alive.

Then came the rock: 45 merciless minutes of dirty hair-metal spiked with ballsy blues starting with "over and over and over," from their self-titled EP. "Tension" followed; an ear pleasing pop-fest with some Strokes here, and dabs of KISS there. A street crowd amassed outside to witness the bedlam inside. One of those pesky rose salesmen started pumping his fist. It was anarchy, to put it mildly.

Fiery frontman, Jeff Pinto, took his face-melting solo to the top of a busy bar table and started swinging his shit like he was Angus Young. Warm beer with bits of black hair rained down from above, smearing every face in sight. It was like Iggy Pop fucked The Velvet Underground and made sex-rock babies who grew into Toronto's Oh! The Pretty Things.

Did you get all that? Cause there's more.

Drummer, Nevada Brown, ripped off his shirt and launched it at an unsuspecting drunkard, who then tripped and fell face first into some waitress's chest.

"This is 'Broke, Bored and Sober,'" said Pinto, practically eating his microphone. What ensued can only be described as the "Bohemian Rhapsody" of North By Northeast '07. At a little more than seven minutes, half of it was improv. It pretty much raised the dead. Real rock 'n' roll, alive and well, thanks to Oh! The Pretty Things.

I'm done.

Merry NXNE everyone.
