About Me
Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor - Image Hosting [Semantik] was initially formed round the turn of the millennium as a heavy hip hop outfit and achieved some local success with regular gigs and positive reviews from their debut recordings. Around 2003 with a change of vocalist and loss of lead guitarist we took moved to a more grunge/alternative rock sound. Through further experimentation and the opportunity to play some acoustic gigs [Semantik] then progressed towards a blues/roots feel. After a 2 year hiatus in which members were overseas and interstate we have reformed with a new drummer and bassist. We wrote a heap of punchy new tunes that have progressed further along a dark blues/roots/rock path with lyrics that reflect both social and personal struggle, melodic, rich and mesmerising vocals, phat and dirty guitars and experimental rhythms. Join us on the journey...................
