About Me |
|
| All four of us (Thomas Suter Vox, Dave O'Neill Guitar, Davie Gillies Bass and Craig MacKinnon Drums) are born and bred in The Vale, in Balloch on the outskirts of Glasgow. We met at and all survived the Vale of Leven Academy, and have managed to forget most of the drivel that we were taught. The Casuals was formed during our school days, Wasn't anything else to do - and we all loved music anyway, from an early age. Just seemed natural, and felt natural. You can't beat playing together, it's what it's all about. Four mates - and it was like: "This is it then." A band. Dave hit us with a few songs, then they just kept coming better and bigger. And after a while pals, and those that heard us said we had a great sound and great songs. And we have. We played a lot of gigs last year, and have got to the point where we're ready. Ready to take the world on. And we fancy our chances. As far as influences go we're into The Kinks, Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones and Stone Roses to name the tip' only. Everyone's got their favorites, mine's The Beatles. We all appreciate a good tune, and that's what it's about isn't it? Sticking on a song an the next thing your fucking skipping about, happy as a sparrow wae a loaf! Oasis had a huge impact on us. Theyre the band we had growing up, marking out the possibilities and they are endless. That's the .. to walk the road and see what happens. Should be better than sitting on our arses watching mind-numbing TV all day or grafting for a pittance. We've got the music card - so we'll play it.And thats what most of this years been about for us - just holding that spring tight for a little while longer while weve been recording our album and working on the mixes. And yeah there's been loads of great things happened so far, but I don't feel proud yet. Feels like we've just started running. It was brilliant to play the festivals last year, though. We can't wait to get back on the road and get the mouths buzzing and ears ringing again. Reckon I might be proud, If I make old age.To someone that's not heard us, it's proper throw your head, arms or legs in the air Rock 'n' Roll. Big songs- that are fresh and 'fuck off'- our way. We're like, the most welcome sneer of your life. Come and hear us. You should join in, our door's open to you
