About Me

Distinctive and eclectic, Alternative Carpark(hereby known as ACP)'s particular style merges the extremes of rock and metal music with an embracingly destructive blues. The cathartic audio violence of their shows has lead to a wide-reaching reputation in the U.K. underground rock scene. After a harrowing time in the wilderness they are about to bring you a new interpretation of heavy rock music for 2008. Please be aware that this is not for the faint-hearted.

CD review of Grant My Wish and Red Rust:
"Grant My Wish" is a winding, twisting, somewhat intriguing affair that starts meekly and gradually envelopes the listener in an ever more intense, aggressive and dark sound. Drums are massive, guitar is right in front of you. This is a startling and unusual track that just about gets commercial enough to do the trick. "Red Rust" carries a groove on bass and drums which a loosely funky guitar and out there vocal work on top of. It's catchy, heavy, kinda crazy mixed up stuff that bridges a gap between hard rock and catchy pop. Cool, very cool."

Live Review

Alternative Car Park are next on stage and they open with a brilliant, riff driven number that is powerful yet smooth. The guitarist sports a flying V - and when he's not driving home some tough chords or groovy riffs there are some interesting creative tones that add a keyboard like dimension to the bands sound. The guys can be crushingly heavy when they want to be - but it is the intruiging, imaginative and genuinly different ideas that crop up that lend the band their own truly distinctive sound. The singer adds guitar at times allowing the flying V room to get really creative, which can be a real treat, and the vocals from the big beardy man are hollered out spectacularly. The band get grooving and hair flies everywhere - there's a rootsy, Zep'ish vibe here but it is always a fresh and exciting sound. Simply awesome.
