° Nadat de sabbatical van de roemruchte Belgische indie-band Orange Black bleef duren, besluit drummer Micha Onzia in de zomer van 2006 funkier wegen in te slaan. Uit een aantal jam-sessies in een schoollokaal met de jonge zanger-gitarist Ludovic Nyamabo ontstaat het idee voor een eigen groep, die Société Anonyme wordt gedoopt. Laverend tussen soul, funk en met als belangrijkste invloeden Prince, Sly and the Family Stone, The Roots, Herbie Hancock, Amp Fiddler en Phoenix wordt al snel een originele podiumset bijeengeschrevenen. Wat later komen Larsen Bervoets (Maxon Blewitt), Mathias Onzia (Orange Black), en Bens Bervoets de band vervoegen, en sluiten trompettist Sam Joris (Sopha) en saxofonist Matti Willems (Sopha) de rangen.
