Request "Nightlight" or "Long Time Coming" HERE! Hercules in NY are a dance-pop-electro outfit from Melbourne, Australia. Towards the end of 2006, Singer/Songwriter Mark D'Angelo, started experimenting with DJ Squeals (aka Martin O’Donnell), to see what may result when bittersweet pop whimsy was combined with driving dance beats. The results were promising and things became a little more serious. Bassist Simon Lawrie and Keyboardist, Antonio Sanciolo joined Mark and Martin in mid-2007, completing the Hercules in NY line-up. Festivals & Gigs Recently, Hercules in NY have played at some great Australian locations. They kicked off the Groovin the Moo festival (Maitland, April 2008) and headed off to Darwin to play at the Bass in the Grass festival (May 2008). This year they have also shared the stage with The Custom Kings, The Potbelleez & Diafrix. Debut Release In April 2008, Hercules in NY released their debut AA single featuring songs Nightlight & Long time comin’. Their debut singles were produced and recorded by Hercules in NY, mixed by Steve Schram at Martin Street Studios (Custom Kings and Little Red) and mastered by Joe Carra at Crystal Mastering. Radio Play Nightlight & Long time comin’ were featured in the “What’s Hot” section on the iTunes home page during their week of release. The singles have had local and national radio play (i.e. triple j, FBI, RRR) including high rotation on several radio stations across Australia (i.e. Syn FM!, Tune!). Hercules in NY have also done several live to air interviews (i.e. ABC Darwin, Syn FM). In May 2008, Hercules in NY joined the many artists who have supported the RADD campaigne (to raise awareness of the dangers associated with drink driving and to promote safe alternatives) by completing an add for Australian radio. Hercules in NY were also selected as featured music on the triple j unearthed webiste and aired on triple j Unearthed on ABC digital television (November, 2007).
