| Under the artistic direction of Manfredi Brunelli Bonetti, art director and street artist with decennial experience in the pictorial experimentation, and through the care of the shows and to the layout of the critical texts from Davide Giannella, cultural and artistic promoter, is born the AVANTGARDEN project.
The name Avantgarden, recalling a famous font declares our interest for the graphic sign, its study and evolution – a dimension in which the street art movement too has its roots and finds the necessary humus for developing its many ramifications.
The assonance with the term avant-garde refers, on the other hand, to the intent of promoting artist, both local and international, bringing new aesthetic ideas, new communication languages, true avant-gardes that still experience problems in finding a space on the institutional channels.
It is unavoidable that the focus of Avantgarden will be on the street art, public and spontaneous art, artistic and social phenomenon, enjoyable in every urban corner of the world and that, despite its diffusion, has still problems in gaining the due acknowledgements from the critics and the market.
Avantgarden will be a new space for the art of the street and its authors, a place to enjoy the artworks, valuing and recognizing styles and poetics, without losing the original directness and spontaneity. For this purpose the gallery will offer to the invited artists a lab, so they can create original artworks, derived from their Milano experience, keeping a link with the streetart tradition that has one of its key characteristics in the relation with the environment and the following experiences.Ghetto BourgeoiseAvantgarden ha raggiunto il suo primo anno di età. Dopo un ciclo di mostre dedicate ai migliori artisti del panorama underground italiano, e grazie al conseguente riscontro di pubblico, la galleria celebrerà il primo anno di attività assieme ad Aaron “SHARP” Goodstone, artista newyorkese, pioniere dagli anni Settanta della graffiti art e ambasciatore della cultura hip hop nel mondo.La serie di opere realizzate in esclusiva per Avantgarden Gallery è il frutto del peregrinare di questo artista tra New York, Parigi e Milano, è la storia di un uomo che attraverso la propria arte è riuscito a valicare i confini del ghetto e a commistionare il proprio codice espressivo con quello delle culture e delle persone con cui è entrato in contatto negli ultimi ventiquattro anni di carriera. Lo studio della lettera, cifra stilistica e poetica del writing, rimane centrale nella sua ricerca e viene posto in primo piano sulle tele. Oltre al chiaro valore tecnico e all’interesse storico suscitato dalla creazione di intricate stringhe di lettere, ciò che colpisce maggiormente, nella costruzione formale dell’opera di SHARP, è l’associazione dello stile del graffito agli sfondi che questo artista mutua dalla cultura pop degli anni Sessanta, dal barocco italiano come dal surrealismo di Mirò. Il titolo della mostra, Ghetto Bourgeois, vuole quindi sintetizzare lo stato d’animo di questo artista cosmopolita che, forte della propria esperienza e della propria maturità, ha affinato il proprio stile e la propria visione del mondo ma che sentendosi fortemente legato alla proprie radici, le strade del South Bronx, vuole ad esse rendere omaggio nel resto del mondo.Con Ghetto Bourgeoise si apre per Avantgarden un ciclo di mostre che vedrà impegnati sempre più artisti del panorama internazionale, nell’intenzione di offrire al nostro pubblico una sempre più ampia proposta culturale e continui spunti di riflessione sull’ arte underground.
