astakut arrived from Japan in 1988 and was immediately taken by the Blues Dance scene in South London. He took interest in rare groove records and began DJing at the leading black community radio station Genesis 91.6 fm from 1992 and continues to do so to the present day.**Having more than ten years of DJing at Genesis on Saturday nights as well as South London clubs under his belt, he has built his own unique yet diverse selection of music, centering around soul.**His spot on Genesis Radio is for the music connoisseurs. His first hour of set features music from jazz records labels such as Impulse Records, Milestone Records, Prestige Records, Black Jazz Records and soul artists such as Leroy Hutson, Curtis Mayfield, Nina Simone, Chaka Khan, and Maze.
**The second hour is the Lovers Soul Selection, a long-time favourite for many listeners, especially the ladies. Soul classics from the late 70s and 80s as well as rare Sweet Soul Music from artists such as Minnie Riperton, Randy Crawford, Phyllis Hyman, Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross and Glenn Jones are played in this set.**In the third hour, Mastakut mainly plays quality soul from a selection of more recent neo-soul and jazz as well as ‘commercial’ songs that are likely to become classics in the future. ---------------- JAPANESE INFORMATION -- klick the picture page !!Send my pics and video to your cell phone!
