| Kendra:I was born in 1976 to an Afro Carribean father and a white British mother in Islington, North London in 1976. During this period there was a lot of racial tension and my father felt the need to leave the country. I remained with my British mother and was raised accordingly. This, over time has produced it's own misconceptions about what race is; multiracial racist slurs and thinking I am foreign to the UK, and culminated in 2005 with a family dispute.When in trying to understand why there was so much misunderstanding about who I am, my afro Carribean family in the UK decided I was so unlike them that I was anti black.Since then I have been learning about why this has happened to me and hope that this group will be able to eliminate some fear and prejudice about other groups in both myspace and the real world.This is also my personal page if you want to be my myspace friend, though I am really busy so may not get back right away.a | |
