| A-Status is a rap group hailing from Buffalo, NY. They grew up in the Bailey area on Alma Avenue. Born and raised in a town where it seems there is not many options. Most end up either dead or in jail. It wasnt until late 2004 they realized their musical talent should be taken seriously. They recorded their first mixtape "Blood Love" in April of 2005. A street buzz was created but their was limited copies of the mixtape. Knowing how much they improved from beginning to ending of the recording sessions, they decided to stop pushing the old mixtape and begin on a new project. They formed the Stil'A Hustle compilation mixtape joining Diesel and Dinero who are also parts of Stil'A Hustle Records. The mixtape recieved love but their were problems with the distribution. Now having a greater knowledge of the game and hungrier than ever. A-Status is back! Their project "Till Death Do Us" which released last April has already moved over two thousand units and counting. Now after a brief hiatus, their pre-album "Calm Before Da Storm" is finished and scheduled for release in May 2007. The two singles "Aint Spilled a Drop" and "Put it on Me feat. Johnal" have recieved love and should be summer anthems. The group has worked on numerous tracks with super producer Thugzman courtesy of Uptown Shooter Gang/Buff City Records and also Prime courtesy of G.E.R.M. Also featuring some of the best up and coming artist's around Chuck Diesel and Rod Dinero of Stil'A Hustle Records, Low Budget from Stil'A Hustle/H-Team, Famous Brown and J.A.G. from H-Team/Harlem's Envy. Many people have taken notice of the talent in cities such as Rochester, Toronto, Atlanta, Cleveland, Los Angeles, etc. The group consists of Marquee, Scripts, and Good Writtens. The style of music is hardcore rap/hip hop and there talent has been displayed on stage at Broadway Joe's, Elmwood Lounge and also the Buffalo Icon opening for Papoose in April 2006. Scriptures who is the youngest of the crew is a vicious battle emcee with his own flavor of punchlines and wordplay. He has drawn hundreds of people to his outdoor battles where money and reputation are put on the line. Marquee is the mastermind behind the scenes of the group. A lot of the hooks and concepts are visualized through his eyes before actually being recorded. Good Writtens the last member has a unique flavor of wordplay mixed with a hard delivery. His combination of energy and witty lines give him a different style than others. The group is finally complete and ready to make not only the city of Buffalo recognize the talent, but the whole world. THROW YA A's UP NICCUHS!!!
