| Alex Deep was born in Venesuela July22 1983 – his sounds. 19: the age one changes the most. Merlinmoon: a wizard by the lake that provided encouragement in times of crisis. Alex Deep: this is his story.With only 15 years of age, Alex began his musical path contributing as a DJ to Venezuela’s raves and discothèques. At the age of18 he traveled to Boston in pursuit of his studies in economics and business. A true entrepreneur, Alex formed a promotion group through which he networked with the club owners that soon opened the doors for him to play in Boston and NY. He met some of best DJs at the time, played music, got criticized and continually became more involved in the entertainment industry.Persistence and a detailed plan that welcomed spurs of luck is what make this story possible. After one of his best friend died in a motorcycle accident Alex faced the fragility of life and quickly realized that life is too short to not do what we love. The satisfaction of expressing emotions, thoughts and dreams gave him the strength to fight against the resistance he faced from family and friends. His dissatisfaction with the music available pushed him to create his own. For a while, even renowned musicians denied him the opportunity to learn. His stubborn rebellious personality did not let him quit and soon met Viktor, a Russian musician that taught him the piano.In disbelief with his best friend’s death Alex began writing with the rage the first of his works. His philosophy professor saw it and encouraged him to pursue his writing abilities. His first song “the Moment” came to life. Through a mixture of soundscaping with cathedral-like voices, he was able to capture the happiness and melancholy that was inside of him.He continued experimenting with sounds while he learned to play the piano and soon began an intense romance with a Mexican woman. Alex explained his writings to her line by line and in the same way she helped him mature emotionally; his lyrics became clearer and more attuned. He lived six months in Mexico writing music, before departing on a long distance relationship.The relationship finished and Alex moved to Rome to play with a band. Within a few months he received a call from a producer in Boston who heard one of his songs. The puzzle of lyrics, musical ability, composition, creativity and purpose started finally came together.
