| Myspace LayoutIn 2004, as former members of regional cover band I-69 (Ron Toth, Jim Toth and Bob Kistler) reunited and added long time friend and vocalist Rob Warren and began writing our own original songs and formed the band STEEL RAIN. We
The group renamed themselves STEEL RAIN and began writing their own original music. Since Ron has a recording studio of his own, composing, arranging, and recording their music was made much easier.
Over the next few years, they wrote and recorded over 28 songs and finally decided on 17 for the newly released disc entitled Hip Slider. Overall, the style of music can be described as classic rock. Some of the group’s influences are Collective Soul, Foo Fighters, Van Halen, and AC-DC. Some of the songs on the CD are regarding current world issues and others are more personal or relationship based. There are also two ballads on the disc.
Rob and Bob share the lead vocals and back up vocals while Ron plays all guitars and keyboards . Jim plays drums and does backing vocals. Bob also plays bass guitar. The groups’ roots go back all the way to elementary school at Concord Southside, and through high school at Concord High in Elkhart, Indiana. They even used to come home during lunch time to rehearse.
At the present time the band is finishing work on its third promotional video created for My Space on U-Tube. The three videos on the My Space page will be of the tracks Hip Slider, Ruthless, and Crazy World.
The band has discussed some live performance dates that would be posted on the My Space site. They also have plans to start on another CD in the near future. The Steel Rain Hip Slider disc can be purchased at any Supersounds location or on-line at www.myspace.com/steelrain01. Single tracks can also be downloaded from the my space site/snocap link.
