CURRENT PROJECTS TWO PLAY A BLOG FROM ALAN EVANS ON TWO PLAY Playonbrother Alan's Myspace Soulive Hey everyone,Wow, I can't believe that it has been this long since my last post here. I've really been busy but not on my own music. I've been recording and mixing like crazy!!! Let's see, where do I begin.... I did a few mixes and secondary editing/mixing on the new Lettuce album. It came out really really good. My boy Joel Hamilton recorded it and mixed most of it so I was pretty psyched to be a part of it. The Lettuce cats laid down some insane funk!!! After that I did a session I got together with a great duo called Two Play here at the studio. The Duo is Ben Jarrad with Vocals, Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Banjo, Yuk and Cherstin with Vocals & Keys. They both blew me away, Cherstin is a single take queen and Ben amazed me with all the music he heard in his head. I would hear one part and say that's cool, next part... ahhh ok, third part.... hmmm interesting. Then you bring all the tracks up and it was just beautiful together. I love grabin' a guitar off the wall thats ten times older than me and jammin' a little. |
