| The Casa Cantina is a full service bar and entertainment venue, providing a professional performance space for local and national acts. The Cantina also acts as a waiting area for the adjoining worker-owned Casa Nueva restaurant. The Cantina offers appetizers during dining hours as well as a Bodega style menu during non-restaurant hours. Drink specials are offered daily, earning us a "best of" Athens award for best "happy hour". The objective of our Cantina is to offer a casual, clean environment for our customers. The Cantina's beer selection is one of the most diverse in Athens, Ohio. Our beer taps adhere strictly to our "buy local" strategy, with 8 draft selections from all over Ohio, including the Columbus Brewing Company and Marietta Brewing Company. We have over 70 bottled beer selections in addition to having 8 original recipe infused vodkas. Our Drink menu changes seasonally with our restaurant menu, offering new and exciting mixed drinks to fit the season. Our bar and mixology staff create these concoctions, often featuring our infused vodkas as well as other popular favorites. Our Bar is a horseshoe shaped wrap around bar, with large windows that look out on to State Street. The brick work entrance into the restaurant is a "bottle" shape designed by John Spofforth. The bar has a unique carving of its own created by Les Kettle-Czinege, that goes through the shelves across the top of the bar and blends into the shape of a tree. All these shapes are created using art found in the simple beauty of nature. This sculpture is called "Babe in the Wood". If you look closely, you will find a figure begins to emerge. |
