A ainda breve história dos Sliver começa quando em Setembro de 2005 o Hugo Sá e o Tiago Rosa se conhecem numa audição do Tiago para integrar os Jack Flue, banda onde o Hugo era já o vocalista e um dos fundadores juntamente com Francisco Piedade e Pedro Vintém.

O Tiago acaba por ficar nos Jack Flue e cedo os dois se apercebem que partilham as mesmas influências musicais e a mesma vontade de viver a fazer aquilo que mais os realiza…música. A vontade de trabalhar em conjunto levou-os em Janeiro de 2006 a integrar os Sold Out, banda de covers, juntamente com Carlos Marques, com a qual fizeram umas dezenas de concertos em Lisboa e no Algarve.

Foi no verão de 2006, no Algarve, que o Hugo e o Tiago decidem construir um projecto de originais, algo de diferente, novo, e começam a escrever algumas letras e a trabalhar algumas ideias. Em Janeiro de 2007 após os pais do Tiago começarem a gerir o bar WallStreet, Tiago conhece Mauro Ramos e mostra-lhe o tal projecto. Mauro quando ouve algumas músicas, ainda em estado muito verdinho, aceita produzir o trabalho dos Sliver: “Miúdos temos material!”

Foi então que os três iniciam em conjunto a composição para posteriormente gravar aquela que seria a maquete dos Sliver… “A Piece Out of the Fall”. Depois de alguns dias de trabalho o produto final estava já todo na cabeça do Mauro, o produtor de “A Piece Out of the Fall”, faltava só gravar.

Para passar as ideias para o CD foram convidados o Gonçalo Pereira, para gravar as guitarras; o Dikk, para gravar os baixos; o Nélson Canoa para gravar as teclas, e o próprio Mauro Ramos para gravar as baterias. Durante os meses de Março e Abril gravaram-se as musicas que integram “A Piece Out of the Fall” no estúdio de Nélson Canoa e no G-Spot Studios.

Finalmente “Glass Cube”, “Day in and Day Out” e “Spider Web (Owned by You)” estavam prontas e integravam agora a primeira fatia dos Sliver… “A Piece Out of The Fall”.

Em Abril de 2007 o Hugo e o Tiago convidam o guitarrista André Frazão e o baixista Gonçalo Santos para integrarem as fileiras dos Sliver… a Fatia estava completa…

Os últimos tempos têm sido prósperos em novidades no mundo dos Sliver. Para além de diversas entrevistas para diversas rádios e uma aceitação crescente por parte do público, os Sliver foram nomeados para banda da semana pela Rádio Atlântica. A banda vê um pouco do seu esforço recompensado com a entrada de GLASS CUBE para a banda sonora da nova série dos MORANGOS COM AÇUCAR. Começa também a trilhar-se o futuro caminho dos Sliver com o início dos trabalhos de pré-produção do seu CD de estreia. Esperam-se mais novidades até ao final do Ano.

The still short story of Sliver started when in late September of 2005 Hugo Sá and Tiago Rosa met in Tiago’s audition to join Jack Flue, where Hugo was already lead singer and original member along with Francisco Piedade and Pedro Vintém.

Tiago end up joining the band and soon both found out that they shared the same musical influences and the same will of doing what fulfilled them the most…music. The will of working together led them to join in January of 2006 Sold Out, a covers band with which they played dozens of gigs both in Lisbon and in Algarve.

It was in the summer of 2006, in Algarve, that Hugo and Tiago decided to start an originals project, something different, something new, and started to write some lyrics and to work some ideas. In January of 2007 after Tiago’s parents started to manage the Wallstreet bar Tiago met Mauro Ramos and showed the project to him. When Mauro heard some of the songs, accept to produce Sliver’s work: “Kids, we’ve got something here!”

That was when the tree started the composing for the posterior recording of what came to be the first demo of Sliver… “A Piece Out of the Fall”. After some days of work, the final product was already in Mauro’s head, the producer of “A Piece Out of the Fall”, the only thing left was the recording.

To put the ideas on the CD Sliver invited Gonçalo Pereira to record the guitars; Dikk, to record the bass; Nélson Canoa to record the keyboards and piano; and Mauro Ramos himself to record the drums. From March to April 2007 the recording of the integrating songs of “A Piece Out of The Fall” took place at Nélson Canoa Studios and at G-Spot Studios.

Finally, “Glass Cube”, “Day in and Day Out” and “Spider Web(Owned by You)” were ready and now integrated the Sliver’s first sliver… “A Piece Out of the Fall”.

In April of 2007 Hugo and Tiago invited the guitar player André Frazão and the bass player Gonçalo Santos to join Sliver…the Sliver was complete…
