Myspace Layouts - Flowers Myspace Layouts Myspace Codes - Hi my name as you can see from my page is Zahlika Zahra, well thats my dance name anyway. I have always danced from a young child, I suppose as early as I can remember. I remember my mother teaching me how to do Irish Dancing in the front livingroom. She had done it herself as a child and had medals for it. My father used to teach us to do Ballroom dancing, he had medals for that. What a mix hey. As I got older I always danced, to work off energy, when I was annoyed, worked up. It always seemed to help. When I was a teenager my sister and I went to dance classes. She didnt really continue, more interested in horse riding. But I did. I went from different forms of dancing. Ballroom, Modern, Salsa you name it. But I was never really happy with any of them until I found Bellydancing.A friend of mine told me about a local class and I went and asked to join. I was a single mum with a young daughter of 2yrs and couldnt go unless she could come with me. Fortunately the teacher was generous enough to allow me to bring my daughter and so began my journey into Egyptian Bellydancing. From the moment I started to dance I felt as if I had come home. It felt so natural to me. I loved the music, the moves, the clothes, the friends I have met through the dance, everything about it.But there is always a time to move on and change and that time has come for me. I dont mean moving away from the dance, far from that, but to evolve into a dancer in my own right. My name Zahlika Zahra came from my being pushed away from a class I had attended for over 8 years, and to this day I still do not know why this happened. But it did and maybe for the reason that it has made me recreate myself and become who I am now. The name comes from my own name. Patricia means of noble birth. I couldnt find an egyptian name for that. But Zahlika meant 'noble', so I chose to use that. Zahra just means flower. So my name means 'Noble Flower'. All though in some circles it may mean 'liability' personal joke lolRecently my friends and I have formed our own group where we can meet, dance, make clothes, enjoy and support each other in the art form that we enjoy so much. We really enjoy our dancing and get great pleasure from choreographing our own dances and making all our own costumes. We aim to always be the best that we can be. You can see pictures of our dance group in my pics and also on my other myspace page I have set up for the dance group which is called 'The Awalem Dance Group'.When Im not practising my dance and choreography I am looking after my all singing all dancing drama princess, my daughter. My interests are as you can see, enjoying bellydancing, I love listening to all music, and I really enjoy working out choreography for my own solo dances and for dances I do with a group of friends of mine who I dance with called The Awalem |

Books:Fraid I am not a great reader, although there are some books that have kept me rivetted in the past. |
