one more tune is a clubnight that began life in this dear green place called glasgow in summer 2007. the name comes from the wee robotic voice that mimics the optimo crowd's "one more tune" chant at the end of legendary sunday nights at the subclub. our main interests are art + people which as clubnights go really just boils down to playing music we like and hoping people have a laugh. one more tune currently runs in blackfriars basement in the merchanct city (bell st-just across from mecrhant square) on the second saturday of each month. we book djs we like and present ourselves visually in the way we like and that's pretty much our manifesto. so, you're likely to hear a range of music; if not all in one night then from one month to the next, as we believe music is best when it takes you on a journey. |

on july 17th we launch one more tune's slutty wee sister night "cheap 'n' nasty" at nice 'n' sleazys basement, sauchiehall street. it's sort of like a cheap and nasty version of out big brother night one more tune proper at blackfriars basement.. we promise to play the sort of music that your daddy dislikes just don't tell anyone you're out... ..."i like it, but mother might think it's cheap 'n' nasty" thursday 17th very special guests are jackmaster & pro vinylist karim (dress $ sweat) + resident matthew craig (OMT, define define) jackmaster and karim are in their own ways giants in the glasgow underground- at 22 jackmaster's name is synonymous with numbers, seismic, point.one recordings, wireblock and dress 2 sweat. bookings include modeselektor, dopplereffekt, feadz, autechre, squarepusher and ghostface killah recently (and that's merely a snippet) sorry-you can't help but name drop when faced with such luminaries. teaming up with the awesome pro vinylst karim (mixed bizness, rubadub) the boys go back2back for a showcase of PROPER choons. for this dress 2 sweat super set, cheap 'n' nasty is looking forward to hearing anything from baltimore to funk to techno to hip hop to good old fashioned party tunes (and all mixed by two of the best that scotland has to offer) cheap 'n' nasty resident and one more tune founder matthew craig provides support playing whatever you didn't expect to hear exactly when you expect it. the club costs a huge £3 to gain entry to or an almighty £2 if you make it before midnight (doors 11-3am) dae it? music = hope xxx 09.07.08 |

Books:about the night's residents (define define): ralph and matthew met through the applied music course at strathclyde uni and played in the guitar group together there. after bumping into each other on various glasgow clubs in early 2007 they realised their tastes in music were similar and that they had both just bought their first turntables/mixers at similar times only months earlier. after six months or so with his 1210s matthew decided to start the night one more tune and ralph was called in and agreed to help dj and run the night. now settled with the name define define ralph and matthew aim to produce their own music and take people on a wee musical journey-wherever that may lead. |
