Here's a new mix I made to hand out at my Retro night to hopefully get some people into some of the more obscure synth classics that I love to spin. Let me know what you think! Been DJing since about 1990, and have spun nearly every form of electronic music at one point. Techno, industrial, breaks, drum'n'bass, rhythmic noise, ambient, house, electro, I love most forms of electronic music! I'm all about educating the crowd and exposing them to music that they've never heard before. At the same time I do enjoy a lot of classic stuff, electronic and otherwise. I was a DJ on 90.3 WRIU (University Of Rhode Island) from about 1990 to about 1997, and I miss those late nights in the studio with the lights down low, mixing 6 records and CDs at the same time and trying to make it sound good. I wish I had some of those shows on tape now! I was resident a DJ at FUSE @ ManRay in Boston from 1998-2001 or a few years, but wasn't very good at playing crowd-friendly synthpop, so I got canned. I wanted to play drum and bass, rhythmic noise and hardcore, but the crowd wanted Apop and VNV. I was also co-resident at Communion in Providence from 1996-2003, but wasn't very interested in playing crowd friendly synthpop, so I quit. I wanted to play The Klinik and other 80's EBM but the crowd wanted Apop and VNV. Currently co-resident at RETRO , an '80s and '90s night in Providence. Been doing it for about 7 years now. I'm always trying to slip in a cool song in the midst of all the pop stuff, and get one over on the unsuspecting crowd. Request Gang Of Four or Nitzer Ebb and i'll love you forever! I'm really lazy when it comes to recording new DJ mixes. I hate spinning music without an audience! But, here are a couple of mixes for you to check out.
