With the art of burlesque enjoying a worldwide resurgence, Hi Ball emerged in 2002 as Australia's first premier burlesque troupe. Since then, they have been performing to packed houses. Hi Ball Burlesque is dedicated to reviving the golden era of burlesque, with authentic vintage costumes, props and music. As the name suggests, Hi Ball Burlesque is steeped in 1950's cocktail culture - from their pin-up style costumes right down to their stage names: Brandy Alexander, Rusty Nail, Dolores Daiquiri, Muffy Manhattan and Dee Dee Martini (our newest recruit). With a soundtrack of classic bump and grind tunes, big band and raunchy R&B, a Hi Ball Burlesque show is an experience to remember. Clad in fishnets and feathers, the girls of Hi Ball take audiences back to a time when burlesque was risque' yet elegant, and striptease was much more about the tease. Hi Ball Burlesque is the longest serving and most well known burlesque troupe in Australia. They are by far Melbourne's most successful burlesque performers who introduced burlesque to the rest of the country. They certainly didn't invent burlesque but they, for the most part, introduced the concept to many other performers/promoters and set a benchmark. Hi Ball's success is due to the classic performances they do, their glamorous style and their ability to entertain a wide audience. They have also performed at many corporate, private, high profile and local events. They have had a fabulous amount of press that has been positive and full of praise.
