About Me

I start out as a window, turn into a camera, then a tape, then an image and some sound, then all of the above muddled up, cut squished and overlapped, then I become a story which hopefully will make someone somewhere happier or give someone the want to make someone happier.

NEW FILM IN PRODUCTION

Working title: The Sides of Britain's Nuclear Weapons

This short documentary will outline the different arguments and opinions surrounding the nuclear weapons which are kept at Faslane in Glasgow. We explore the age old life a peace activist as well as those who are new to non violent direct action, finding out the pros and cons of using your body to make a difference to the situation. Similarly we explore the reasons why Britain has nuclear weapons; how they deter terrorism, how they make us safer and why the majority in government voted for them.

The story also highlights how both sides over lap and sometimes a job, no matter what it is, puts food on the table and keep families afloat and how this to each individual whether they be a peace activist or someone who helps make/ maintain our nuclear weapons.

The many arguments surrounding nuclear weapons are complicated but sometimes something so complex can be simplified by a clear-cut yes or no. This documentary aims to educate the public on these arguments so that they can make their own choice.

Informed debate in the only debate, which is affective.

It is not just those who take direct action that must be heard but the whole population. Nuclear weapons affect everyone as they are not objective when they strike.

These are some of the opinions that face us: (according to http://news.independent.co.uk/) “Britain needs the bomb to deter the continuing threat from holders of the world's current stockpiles of nuclear weapons.”

However

“Holding nuclear weapons is of little use in a post-Cold War world, where the main threat comes from terrorism.” (As defined on Wikipedia “Terrorist attacks are often targeted to maximize fear and publicity. They usually use explosives or poison, but there is also concern about terrorist attacks using weapons of mass destruction.”)

So the questions remains, who are we said to be deterring and do nuclear weapons actually deter them?

So far we've shot the bits with Strident, the student strand of faslane 365 activists hence the fact that all of the photos are of protesters. THERE IS MORE TO COME..........

I did the camera work for in the doc above last november.

I'd like to meet:

Blue Door is looking for some other doors no matter what colour to exchange ideas about our similarities and differences.

"FROM HERE TO THE MOON" IS THE LAST FILM I MADE

This film documents two students emerge from their comfort zones to meet two authors who have rather interesting views on where we humans actually come from. On our crossing between the mainstream and the avant garde we encounter a group of hip hoppers, who are trying to bring their moon culture to our doorstep.
