| Michael T. Otto lernte sein Trompetenhandwerk an der Musikhochschule Köln bei Prof. Malte Burba . Das lässt aufhorchen, denn unter anderem Till Brönner , Axel Dörner und Joo Kraus lernten ihre Trompetentechnik ebenfalls bei Malte Burba. Das Jazz-Handwerk erlernte Michael T. Otto ebenfalls in Köln und beim New Yorker Pianisten Peter Madsen . Michael T. Otto played his own designed Trumpet ELEPHANT At the age of nine, Michael T. Otto began to play the trumpet in a local brass band. After a brief odyssey with military music he began his studies with M. Burba at the Cologne Conservatory, where he also entered into the realms of jazz and composition. He founded the "Brass Band Oberschwaben-Allgäu" (1992 - 2001), wherein he was the principal cornettist, as well as the "Big Band LA", as part of the music school Langenargen, where he teaches. His Debut album "Spin Trumpet" was released by the renouned label "Thorofon" in 2003. One year later, he founded the international "mto-jazz-quartett", featuring Olivier Hutman (Paris), Andy McKee (New York) and Stefan Will (St. Gallen, Switzerland), an ensemble dedicated to modern jazz. He furthermore is the founder of the "Erste Deutsche Stubenjazz Combo", an unconventional ensemble of instruments (vocals, kuhlohorn, trombone, accordion, guitar, double bass) that interprets contemporary arrangements of traditional German songs. In 2005, M.T. Otto teamed up with the Parisian songwriter Didier Delepeleer to create the French-German children's musical "Pigeon Vole oder ein Floh in geheimer Mission", that was awarded with a second prize by the Robert Bosch foundation. Since 2006 he develops trumpets and flugelhorns with the instrument maker Friedrich Lüttke. Among others, Michael T.
