About Me |
I and I am from JahMekya. I am Donald Willis aka Doniki. On August 11,1966 I was born in Trench Town.Life in Trench Town as a youthman, was'nt easy; I went to St. Albans Primary and then on to Denham Town Secondary Schools. While at Denham Town High I took every opportunity to sing at any function or event. By age sixteen, I was receiving payment for my performances. I started singing on Sound Systems around that time, Killmanjaro, Romantic, and others come to mind.In 1982, I did my first Recording called "She Give Me Icky" produced by Mikey Tomlinson. Later, I teamed with Steady Ranks and wrote songs for ourselves and others. Bunny Wailer was influential on our development; but I credit Johnny Osbourne as my backitive then.I moved on to Star Trail Production where I recorded songs such as "Trod On" and "Jump Nyha Binghy". Next on my journey to stardom, came Jah Mikes' Kariang Family, where the first album "Come To Give Praises" was done and the second album "Radikal Expression" is well received across Europe.
I graduated from Kariang Family, having done the required tours and songs. I met fans in Paris, Rome, Ivory Coast, Israel, Canada,London, Sweden and Amsterdam.The next leg of my tour, will see me doing many fresh songs and going closer to my fans. The single "Gully Bank" released in July 2k7 is going to #1 thanks to my fans who know good music. I am now working with David Scorpion as the Producer and you can expect good, inspiring music from us.Norman Lamont, who is around me since age fourteen, is now CEO of BayRock Music, producers of "Woman Come a dance" a song I did out of love for women. Bayrock Music is a label with a great future. |
