"Le mâle nécessaire" est une vision ironique et cynique d'un monde où les hommes seraient de gros matous prêts à "croquer" n'importe quelle proie. Machos à poils, alternant la caresse ou la griffe, à la fois tendre et salaud.
Les femmes, elles, sont représentées par la symbolique de l'oiseau (Fenêtre ouverte), à la fois frêle et moqueur, tournant dans le ciel d'un air avisé.
