Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Jamaican Pride - Image Hosting My journey began from the day i opened my eyes, my path was chosen before i knew my destination..................music was my vehicle. At first it was just a urge to express my views, my thoughts, my desires............my dreams..........Now it has become an obsession.My journey has taken me to the 4 corners of the world.....i have seen all kinds of cultures embrace my music,the vehicle that took me on this journey is INNER CIRCLE........the group that gave me my international exposure. i became the lead vocalist of inner circle in 1995, for those who know me....they know this story, it has been a long road, at times a mixed emotional trip, but mostly a very stimulating and educational experience.But lets go back to my days in Jamaica my island paradise, i started playing music the last year of high school (kingston college), my friends and i decided to start a band............non of us had ever played an instrument before that day.........yes....we just decided who would play what, i chose the guitar, and i also became the lead singer of the band of non musicians, we took one year to learn our instruments, played tastee talent contest as guest artiste, got kick out of springvale(fab five was our mentors, they put us under the tutorship of the musician of the unique vision band i am eternally grateful to all the members of fab five and unique vision for thier time and effort) .....i guess we became too much to bear..............looking back i can understand frankie's frustration listening to us play exodus (bob Marley) for 6 month....every day....haha. My friends all migrated to the usa, i was chosen to represent jamaica in the caribean song competition. fast forward to 1995, i was invited to sing with inner circle after they saw a live performance of me while the lead singer for the band skool.....the rest is history.So here i am now at this point of my journey, working on my first solo album, building recording studios, doing artist management and development ...............building a rep. My path is set.....i am determine to pursue all possibilities......all things are possible.So i came to a conclusion.....there is no preset destiny....only the path you follow will lead to your destination, all things are possible with hard work and patience, i left inner circle after 12 years, it is and was time to move on, i have learnt alot from being in inner circle, good and bad, all things being considered it was time well spent, i have grown....and with growth comes wisdom, knowledge and ultimately a true understanding of self worth and purpose, i go forward in a new direction with a strong awareness of the presence of God in all things good and bad, weak and strong.......i am blessed because i believe.................to be continued. |
