| I-Caliber whose real name is Dame Warner was born on February 10th 1983 at University Hospital of the West Indies in St. Andrew, Jamaica; He lived in St. Andrew at Whitehall Avenue before relocating to Portmore where he now resides for the pass twenty two years. He grew up in a house hold that loves music his oldest brother was a recording artiest. I-Caliber grew up listing to all types of music such as Rock Steady, Jazz, Reggae, Gospel, R&B, Souls, Hip-Hop, Rap, Soca and Dancehall. I-Caliber’s calling was music from a tender age he has been showing a strong interest in music at the age of eleven he started writing songs but while attending Waterford High School his school work got the better of his time so he took a break from music, at the end of high school he met Shaune aka “Young G” while going to Duff’s Business College and was influenced by him so he started rapping. He did that for a while, he went by the name “LiL’Dane” but he always felt something was missing in his music. In 2007 he decided to do Dancehall/Reggae music after his bestfriend Joel aka “Columbian” gave him a beat (rhythm) to give another dj. He was feeling the beat and decided to write a song for it, his first song “Better Way”
Was a hit with some witty rhymes and strong lyrical content about Jamaica’s social status, a star was born he memorize all his peers with his writing and delivery skills and not only his friends but people from all over the world. Some other songs to look out for “talki talki”, “Bad Mind Mi Ting” and his latest hit “Mi A Rebel” its getting lots of love, check it out yourself. Currently he is unsigned and looking to be sometime soon, he is working on a album that will be released on the GMG label so watch out for him ok one love!!! |
